Apply to become a SelfRefer Provider
Welcome to the SelfRefer program! The Queensland Police Service has partnered with a number of mental health and Physiotherapy providers across the State to deliver external, confidential psychological support.
If you meet the below criteria and would like to join our SelfRefer network, please fill out the application form and the SelfRefer manager will be in contact to explain the next steps.
To be considered for our SelfRefer network, you must:
- be a currently registered psychologist (with evidence of your Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration number); OR
- be a social worker with membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW); or have proof of eligibility for membership; OR
- be a counsellor with Clinical Registration and Mental Health Practitioner Status within the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation or Australia (PACFA); OR
- be a registered counsellor with Level 4 Australian Counselling Association membership
AND
- have knowledge and experience in first responder experiences and trauma, and an understanding of the unique nature of the first responder industry.
- have knowledge and experience in trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and in managing the effects of experiencing trauma.
- have current professional indemnity and public liability insurance to a minimum level of $10,000,000.
